Memphis-based FedEx Corp. hopes to fill 1,000 permanent part-time positions in is Express division at a job fair Saturday, April 1. The event will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 2874 Business Park Drive at Building D.
Hourly rates start at $12.62, and there is a minimum of 17.5 hours per week guaranteed. Benefits include medical coverage, with premiums starting at $5 a month, as well as vision and dental benefits and tuition assistance.
“FedEx Express is seeking motivated individuals to join our team on a permanent, part-time basis with great pay, benefits and the potential for career advancement,” said Frank Olson, manager of HR staffing solutions for FedEx Express. “At FedEx Express, we do more than deliver packages. Applicants must be 18 years or older and able to lift 75 pounds. There are no education requirements, but individuals must be able to provide a 10-year work history, which can include time as a student. Applicants must also provide a 10-year residency history.
A valid driver’s license is required for people interested in material handler positions, and all applicants are subject to criminal background checks and drug screening.
FedEx Corp. holds job fairs about once every three months. Open positions are also posted on the company's job site.
